My world of words
When you really focus on exactly how you're doing the thing you do so naturally, it all of a sudden becomes uncomfortable. Years of scribbling notes on pages, committing phrases to memory, jotting down points of inspiration have culminated in finally setting up my own Substack page. Now I am here, however, I don’t quite know what to say.
What I do know is that I’m excited to explore this space and share some writing with like-minded people. I’ll start off with some poetry I have written and would sincerely love to hear any feedback, suggestions or reactions the readers might have. I’m here to learn, improve and evolve. I’m pretending I’m not nervous.
I don’t want to share too much detail about myself here, nor categorise my work or reasons for writing. One thing I love so much about working with words is the fact they are so versatile. I’ve used words in persuasive essay writing, formulating research reports, creating bedtime stories, processing emotion, and in sending corporate emails. One word can mean so many different things. Words can adapt to whatever inspires you in the moment. I don’t see myself as a writer, just as someone who turns to the written word in navigating through my days and wanted to do something with them other than leave them hidden in my notebook.
Here’s to scribbling, jotting and using day-to-day experiences to bring words to life.
Welcome to Substack!!! Your collection, sorting and arrangement of words are beautifully done and a delight to consume. Looking forward to reading more.
